Support Groups

Looking for connection and extra support?

Four people in colorful jackets linked arm in arm, facing away.

At Neuron and Rose, we believe in the power of community and support. Our therapy practice is rooted in understanding, validation, and empowerment. One of the strongest calls of feedback we continue to hear from clients is the need for continued support after evaluation and for community with other neurodivergent folks!

Each season, we offer a range of support groups designed to provide a safe and inclusive space for individuals to explore their identities and connect with others who share similar experiences.

You Can Be In Community!

For neurodivergent individuals, the journey towards self-acceptance and empowerment often finds its foundation in the supportive embrace of community. In a world that frequently misunderstands or overlooks their unique perspectives and needs, finding a community of like-minded individuals can be profoundly validating and empowering. Through shared experiences and mutual understanding, members of the neurodivergent community can find solace, validation, and a sense of belonging that may have eluded them in mainstream environments.

Within a supportive community, neurodivergent individuals have the opportunity to share their triumphs and challenges openly, without fear of judgment or stigma. This fosters a sense of solidarity and empathy, where each member feels seen, heard, and valued for who they are. Moreover, the collective wisdom and lived experiences within the community offer invaluable resources for navigating the complexities of everyday life, from managing sensory sensitivities to developing coping strategies for executive functioning challenges. In essence, community becomes not only a source of comfort and validation but also a catalyst for growth, resilience, and self-discovery.

Oops I Did it again: Baby, I’m Self-Toxic!

Do you…

  • Find yourself stuck in cycles of self-criticism, over-apologizing, or setting impossible standards—only to crash and burn?

  • Often think things should be easier and wonder what’s “wrong” with you?

  • Feel ashamed of aspects of your identity, like your neurodivergence?

  • Judge your feelings instead of allowing them?

  • Depend on others for reassurance you struggle to give yourself?

  • Notice that you’re hard on yourself for making mistakes or having limitations?

You’re not alone.

This group is for neurodivergent individuals who struggle with self-compassion and want to break free from toxic self-talk, perfectionism, and guilt spirals—without toxic positivity or “good vibes only” nonsense.

Using an adapted version of The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook—tailored to how neurodivergent minds process emotions, motivation, and self-worth—we’ll explore practical, non-cheesy ways to be kinder to ourselves.

Through guided exercises, discussion, and a little humor (because self-growth doesn’t have to be miserable), we’ll learn how to:

  • Recognize and challenge self-toxic thought patterns

  • Build a self-compassion practice that actually works for your brain

  • Navigate the tension between self-acceptance and self-improvement

  • Develop coping tools that don’t rely on masking or burnout

This is a judgment-free, shame-free, neuro-affirming space with people who get it.

If you’ve ever thought, “Why am I like this?”—this group is for you.

Let’s unlearn self-toxicity together. Because baby, you’re a star.

time & Investment

Each cohort can last between 6-12 weeks, meeting once or twice a week. We will meet virtually for 1-2 hours depending on the type of group. If you plan to be away for multiple weeks, please consider waiting for the next cohort to leave a spot open for someone who would like to join each session.

Our groups are available to anyone in California or Minnesota. We try and keep the cost of attendance to a minimum to allow anyone who wishes to join the ability to do so, however, if you find the cost prohibitive, especially if you are in BIPOC or LGBTQIA+, we always have some Pay What You Can spots available!

If you are a current client, we have special rates for you!

Community from your safe place

Our virtual support groups provide a welcoming and inclusive space where neurodivergent individuals can connect, share, and grow together from the comfort of their own homes. What to expect

Each session typically begins with a warm welcome and introductions, allowing members to share a bit about themselves and their journey. Throughout the session, you can anticipate engaging discussions on topics relevant to the neurodivergent experience, facilitated by our knowledgeable and empathetic team. Whether exploring strategies for self-care, navigating social challenges, or celebrating personal victories, our virtual support groups offer a safe and nonjudgmental space for sharing insights, seeking advice, and building connections with fellow participants.

Additionally, participants are encouraged to contribute at their own pace, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable and respected in the virtual environment. Ultimately, our virtual support groups aim to foster a sense of camaraderie, validation, and empowerment among neurodivergent individuals, helping each member feel seen, heard, and supported on their journey towards personal growth and fulfillment.
