ADHD Evaluations

ADHD evaluations for brains that sprint, zig-zag, and overthink everything.

It’s estimated that adult ADHD affects almost 5% of Americans, with higher diagnoses in men than women. (1)

While men are known to display increased hyperactivity and impulsive behaviors, women, on the other hand, demonstrate more inattentive traits. Sometimes, the experience of “hyperactivity” may be more internal or less obvious. Due to increased awareness of ADHD and what it looks like in people who are not boys/men, researchers are finding that the condition can be just as common in girls/women or genderqueer folks, but it may show up in different ways.(2)

Having a trusted clinician by your side to offer the right resources, accommodations, or therapeutic referrals can make a drastic difference in your quality of life.

Our Neuroaffirming Approach to ADHD Evaluations

Some brains run a million miles an hour.

Some brains notice everything, all at once, and forget the things that seem “obvious” to everyone else.

Some brains hyper-focus on what excites them—and ignore clocks, deadlines, or even lunch.

An ADHD evaluation helps us understand how your brain pays attention, processes time, organizes information, and regulates energy—without judging, labeling, or trying to “normalize” you. We’re here to help you see your strengths, understand your challenges, and untangle the patterns that have been confusing or exhausting.

  • We don’t pathologize creativity, quirks, or principled thinking. Many ADHD brains are clever, innovative, hyper-curious, and highly adaptable. These are strengths—until masking, misunderstanding, or lack of support makes them exhausting.

    This evaluation helps clarify:

    • What is ADHD

    • What is neurodivergence

    • What is ‘you’

    • Where support (not suppression) can help

  • We usually need 2-3 sessions, with each session being about 2 hours long.

Sessions are paced for brains that need breaks, snacks, or just a moment to stare into space.

  • Think of this as a collaboration between you and a clinician who gets it. We start with a deep-dive clinical interview (we listen, really listen), leaving space for the stuff you usually keep to yourself:

    • Executive functioning challenges that frustrate you

    • Emotional regulation struggles

    • Coping strategies that actually work

    • Weird, “nobody gets me” experiences

ADHD-specific interviews and standardized measures, such as:

    • DIVA-5

    • BRIEF-2 or ESQ

    • CAARS, MOXO CPT, or other ADHD assessments

    Screening for co-occurring experiences, including:

    • Autism

    • OCD

    • Anxiety

    • Trauma

    • Sensory sensitivities

    • Personality inventory

    • Stand-alone ADHD assessment (all about your unique brain)

    • Add-on to another evaluation—Autism, OCD, giftedness, dyslexia

  • A report that actually makes sense and is written for humans, not robots with:

    • Background and developmental context

    • Clear, judgment-free interpretation of results

    • Practical and personalized recommendations that don’t involve “just try harder”

    • Feedback session to review results together, answer lingering questions, and discuss next steps that actually fit your brain
