Adult Therapy

You deserve the answers you’re looking for. We’re here to help.

Adult Life Doesn’t Have to Feel This Hard

Maybe you’re feeling constantly overwhelmed, even by the “basics.” Exhausted from keeping up with work, relationships, family responsibilities, and the endless demands of everyday life. You’re probably experiencing some mix of anxiety, burnout, self-doubt or feeling disconnected from yourself.

The truth is, you’re not failing. You’ve been playing life on Hardcore Mode while neurotypical brains are playing on Easy. Your brain has been adapting to challenges that may have gone unseen or unsupported for a long time and now it’s struggling to keep it all together.

At Neuron & Rose Psychological Services, we provide a warm, neuroaffirming space where adults can better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and build a life that feels less demanding and more authentic.

How Can Therapy Help?

Therapy provides an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and better understand yourself.

You may be navigating a recent autism or ADHD diagnosis. Years of masking, unmet needs, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and navigating a world that wasn’t designed for your brain may have led to burnout, anxiety or depression. Maybe it’s about exploring your identity and learning more about yourself while you integrate your life experiences.

Whatever has brought you here, we’re glad it has. Together, we’ll explore the challenges you’re facing while building on the strengths, hidden or otherwise, that you already possess. Therapy can help you identify patterns, develop new coping strategies, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful changes that support your well-being. It’s about helping you better understand and support you where you are, and to get to where you want to be.

What to Expect During Therapy

Starting Therapy

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve never worked with a therapist before or have had a poor experience previously. You aren’t just your diagnosis and we’re not here to check boxes. You don’t have to prove you’re “disabled enough” to get the support you need.

Neuroaffirming support

At Neuron & Rose we’ve created a neuroaffirming space where you can be your truest self with respect, comfort, and understanding. The majority of our staff are neurodivergent themselves and we know exactly what you’re going through and how it can take gentleness and time to uncover your truths.

During Sessions

During sessions, we’ll spend time getting to know you, your experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we’ll identify areas you’d like to explore and develop a plan that feels meaningful and achievable. Some sessions may focus on practical strategies and skill-building. Others may involve exploring emotions, relationships, life experiences, or patterns you’ve noticed in yourself.

Our Approach to Adult Therapy

At Neuron & Rose, we believe therapy should honor the whole person.

  • We use a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed and strengths-based approach that recognizes the unique experiences, identities, and challenges each client brings to therapy.

  • Many folx come to us after years of feeling misunderstood, judged, or pressured to fit into expectations that didn’t feel right for them. Therapy offers an opportunity to explore those experiences with curiosity, compassion, and support.

  • Our therapists work collaboratively with clients to identify strengths, address challenges, and create strategies that feel realistic and sustainable.

  • Whether you’re navigating anxiety, burnout, identity exploration, relationship challenges, or simply trying to better understand yourself, we’re here to support you along the way.

Still Have Questions About Adult Therapy?

  • No. Many adults seek therapy because they are struggling with stress, relationships, life transitions, or questions about themselves. You do not need a formal diagnosis to benefit from therapy.

  • Not at all. While our practice has expertise in supporting neurodivergent individuals, we work with adults experiencing a wide variety of concerns and life challenges.

  • That’s okay. Many clients begin therapy knowing something doesn’t feel right but having difficulty identifying exactly why. Therapy can help you gain clarity and better understand what’s contributing to your current challenges.

  • Most clients begin with weekly sessions, though frequency may vary depending on your goals and needs. Your therapist will work with you to determine what feels most supportive.

  • Finding the right therapeutic relationship matters. If previous therapy experiences weren’t helpful, we encourage you to share those experiences so we can better understand what you’re looking for and how we can support you.
