For teenagers, that evaluation looks at the development of the individual, as well as their academic intellect. Once the evaluation is complete, professionals will look at how your teenager lines up with some of the patterns often consistent with dyslexia. 

Everyone learns differently. Some children learn at a different pace. Others learn by doing, or seeing, or hearing. With so many different learning styles, it’s not always easy to pinpoint exactly what’s best for your child. 

We often associate dyslexia as something diagnosed in children rather than a condition discovered or developed late in life.  In addition, up until relatively recently, it was thought that only a very small percentage of the population was dyslexic—the reality is that one in five experience dyslexia!
